Two suspects have been busted in Tamale, around the Industrial area, for a theft case in connection with animals.
The suspects, identified as Yussif, and Ganiu, who are both Natives of Damango allegedly stole 4 goats, slaughtered them in their routine operations but failed to deliver them to their buyer, an accomplice to the theft following the arrest by the vigilante Residents of the area upon a tip-off.
Following their arrest, the residents tied the two with a rope, prompting them to mention a mastermind behind their failed operation.
According to the suspects, they were asked to execute the thievery operation by one prominent chief known as Kunkundana who offered them 600 Ghana Cedis as their reward, narrating that the chief bolted, escaping arrest of the people upon sensing danger.
Animal theft is on the ascendency in recent times as some of the youth who are supposed to focus on their direction in education and entrepreneurial skills for a better tomorrow engage in theft, particularly animal thievery.
For instance, Yussif and Ganiu, who are believed to be in their late 20s, are in their youthful age, exuding exuberance who could have invested their energy and time into fruitful and productive ventures but resorted to thievery as their main source of income.
Unfortunately, their cups were full as residents clamped on them to arrest them during their operation.
