Astute Football Administrator Alhaj Limuna has advised Sankara Nationals following the team’s qualification to the Division One League, admonishing him to set up a management team of no more than four members to manage the affairs of the club.
In a congratulatory open letter to the club’s owner, Alhaj Osman Baba Daney, Mr. Limuna urged the owner to create key structural positions such as CEO, General Manager or Director of Operations, Team Manager/Welfare Officer, and Technical Director/Chief Scout.
“Please my little advice to you is that at the division one stage, you don’t need to set up the club management team to be more than four”.
The structure should just be following
- CEO
- GENERAL MANAGER OR DIRECTOR OF OPERATIONS
- TEAM MANAGER/WELFARE OFFICER,
- TECHNICAL DIRECTOR/CHIEF SCOUT.
Alhaj Limuna also advised the owner of the club to decouple himself from direct management roles by only playing the role of the club president, which he says will help the running affairs of the club.
“Please be advised that you must DECOUPLE yourself from direct management roles and only play the club president role, sir”.
He also further advised the club to start early preparations for their campaign in the Division One League since they are likely to play home matches away from home, adding that the owner should look for sponsorships and partnerships to support the club in addition to his own resources.
Below is Alhaj Limuna’s Open Letter to the Owner of Sankara Nationals
SANKARA NATIONALS FC
Congratulations Alhaji Daney Baba and your management.
Am very sorry I haven’t really made out time to properly congratulate you guys on your qualification to Division One due to some football-related issues.
Alhaji Baba, I must commend you on your high interest and dedication to football in our noble region. It’s not everyone that has the heart to venture into football management, thank you sir and I hope and pray that almighty Allah continues to nurture your interest in the game to continue to help the young ones.
CLUB MANAGEMENT
Alhaji, please my little advice to you is that at the division one stage, you don’t need to set up the club management team to be more than four.
The structure should just be
- CEO
- GENERAL MANAGER OR DIRECTOR OF OPERATIONS
- TEAM MANAGER/WELFARE OFFICER
- TECHNICAL DIRECTOR/CHIEF SCOUT.
Please the above-mentioned position requires so much thinking and inquiry to enable you to do the appointments, sir.
Please be advised that you must DECOUPLE yourself from direct management roles and only play the club president role, sir.
LEAGUE MATCHES
It’s a well-known fact that playing in Zone One is no child’s play and that you must start your preparation very early since the club is very likely to play home matches away from home.
The 2025/2026 division one league season is going to be very very tough and difficult because you will be facing clubs like RTU, Tamale City, Legon Cities, and others in zone one A. This is not to scare you but just to prompt you to cut your honeymoon short and then start your journey early.
FUNDING
Start looking for partnerships and sponsorship to add to what you may be bringing on board if not hmmmmm.
OFFICIATING
Officiating is never friendly in the Division One league so I will advise you to psych yourself towards that especially playing away matches.
TECHNICAL TEAM
The only thing I can say about this is that devoid of friendship, please employ capable and experienced coaches to run the affairs of the club, and God Willing you shall surprise others
- Head Coach
- Two Assistant Coach
- Goalkeeping Coach
- Equipment officer
- Two Physio
SUPPORTERS DERIVE.
Please ensure a well-constituted supporters group that has and will be showing interest in the club so as to play an organized role in the club.
MEDIA RELATIONS
This is one of the critical stakeholders you can never do away with so I will implore you and the management, especially the General Manager or Director of Operations who shall be doubling as the club’s Mouth Piece (Media Relations) to be a friendly as possible with the media and not to be selective and judgmental. The club must be closer to the media always.
Congratulations once again.
ALHAJI LIMUNA AMINU MUSAH
CEO, Clean Heart Sports Consult and Event Management.
