Ghanaian UK-based Football Administrator and Bankroller of FC Tamale, Ibrahim Gagbuni, is urging clubs in the Northern Region, especially those competing in the Premier League and Division One League, to unite and fight a common cause that will benefit the region.
In a post published on his Facebook handle today, Tuesday, 17th June 2025, Mr. Gagbuni noted that while four clubs from the Northern Region will be participating in the Division One League given the promotion of Sankara Nationals, it is a golden opportunity for the clubs to unite for strategic football growth in the region.
“With four clubs from the Northern Region now in Division One, this is more than just promotion, it’s a golden opportunity for strategic growth in Northern football. Let’s unite, Premier, D1, and 2nd Division clubs to support and ensure Sankara Nationals maintain their place”, he wrote on Facebook.
According to Mr.Gagbuni, clubs should share resources to support one another, adding that this will help them build a powerful football together for the future to uplift the region through a strong presence in the Division One.
“A strong Division One presence uplifts the whole region. Let’s back each other, share resources, and build a powerful football future together”, Mr Gagbuni stated.
Meanwhile, the owner of FC Tamale also congratulated Sankara Nationals for their promotion to the Division One League and pleaded for support for the club to help them maintain their status in the Division One League in their first trials.
He made this statement on the back of his invitation by the CEO of Sankara Nationals, Baba Osman Daney, to observe the club’s ‘Justify Your Inclusion’ process held in Yendi as they prepare for their campaign in Division One.
