Vigilante Residents of Warizehi Electoral Area have clamped down on suspects who carried out a failed operation to steal animals.

The suspects, in their usual Modus Operandi, slaughtered 5 goats and kept them in black polythene bags inside 2 blue containers under the pretext of undertaking a routine legitimate business.

As part of the grand scheme to take the alleged stolen animals sealed in the containers, a ”Yellow Yellow’ Driver was rented to deliver the animals to a particular destination, suspected to be Salamba, a suburb of Tamale for business.

This occurred on Tuesday, 24th June 2024 in Tamale.

Following a tip-off, the Assembly Member of the Warizehi Electoral area, in collaboration with the vigilante group of the area, chased the Tricycle Driver, stopped him, and confiscated the containers.

When items of the containers were checked and revealed, they contained slaughtered animals including 2 pregnant goats.

A certain sub-chief of Salamba was fingered as the key architect behind the thievery syndicate in the area. The matter was subsequently reported to the Chogu Palace for further action, including interrogations, for which the sub-chief was summoned to the Palace, he declined to appear under the pretext of an emergency travel out of the jurisdiction of Tamale.
