The Electoral Commission has resolved to end the impasse in the Ablekuma North Constituency between the NDC and NPP over disputed results by organizing fresh elections in 19 out of the 37 outstanding polling stations.

This announcement follows a meeting involving the two major parties, NPP and NDC, who hold contrary positions regarding the Ablekuma North Parliamentary Election Results.

While the NDC called for a rerun of elections in 37 polling stations due to the use of scanned pink sheets in the collation process. The NPP firmly held the view that the results from the 3 polling stations should be collated and declared therein.

In an attempt to finding antidote to the problems after 6 months into this current administration, In a press release today, Wednesday 2nd July 2025, the EC announced that there will be a rerun of elections in 19 polling stations in the Ablekuma North Constituency to determine the winner in the Parliamentary Elections aimed ensuring representation for the people of the area.

Since January 7th, 2025, the people of Ablekuma North Constituency have had no representation in Parliament following the EC’s inability to declare a winner after the December 7th Presidential and Parliamentary Elections.
