Former Northern Regional Football Association Chairman and Owner of Tamale Utrecht Football Academy, Abdulai Alhassan(Abu Imoro) has been cleared of any wrongdoing or corruption relating to football activities by Accra High Court as captured in number 12 expose’ produced by Anas Armeyaw Anas.
Mr. Abdulai Alhassan has been discharged by the High Court along with Former Ghana Football Association Chairman, Kwesi Nyantakyi after the prosecution failed to produce the Investigative Journalist Anas Aremeyaw in Court for trial to begin as ordered by the judge presiding over the case.
This means the duo have not been found guilty in the corruption scandal highlighted in the Number 12 football documentary released by the Ace Investigative Journalist Anas Aremeyaw.
Abdulai Alhassan and Kwesi Nyantakyi subsequently resigned from their roles as GFA Executive Committee Members following on-camera activities seen in the video documentary allegedly perpetrating fraud.
Abdulai Alhassan was elected as the Northern Regional Football Association Chairman after beating incumbent Adam Munkaila at the elections held on Friday, October 2, 2015.
At the end of the voting, Abdulai Alhassan pulled 49 votes while Adam Munkaila had 30 out of the total vote cast.
Abdullai is a former professional player who plied his trade in Holland and Belgium for six years. He retired aged 31 and came back to Ghana to form Tamale Utrecht and contested in the region’s FA top job.
