Black Stars captain, Andre Ayew, scored twice as the All Star XI beat a Northern XI 2-1 to climax the 2024 All Star Festival in Tamale on Saturday night.
Andre’s brother Jordan Ayew, Mubarak Wakaso, Afena Gyan, Abdul Fatawu Issahaku and other big name professionals featured in the game at the Aliu Mahama Sports Stadium.
The 2024 All-Star Festival is the third edition being organized by The BAC Group, headed by Ernest Koranteng.
This is the first time the Northern Region is hosting the festival, where some Black Stars players will played against a local select side drawn from Ghana Premier League, Division One, and Division Two clubs.
This year’s festival will also see the refurbishment and unveiling of the Abedi Ayew Pele Roundabout at Tamale, a sports business series at the University for Development Studies, and a Legends Night where retired footballers fraternize with the professionals.
Players like Andre Ayew ,Jordan Ayew Mubarak Wakaso and Abdul Fatawu Issahaku have expressed excitement for being able to connect with people from their northern roots.
