Former SK PILLERSEETAL player and Kalpohin Senior High School alumnus, Zakari Mutawakil Abukari, has returned to his alma mater to inspire students and support the school’s sporting development.
Zakari, who completed his secondary education at Kalpohin SHS in 2006 and served as the school’s Sports Prefect, paid a special visit to the school on Thursday in the company of some of his senior colleagues, year group members, and his wife as part of efforts to give back to the institution that played a significant role in shaping his future.
Addressing a gathering of students and staff, Zakari reflected on his journey from the classrooms and sports fields of Kalpohin SHS to pursuing a football career abroad. He encouraged the students to remain focused on their dreams, emphasizing the values of hard work, discipline, and perseverance.
”I have returned to give back to the community because my journey began here. I feel a strong obligation to pay homage to this great institution and demonstrate my commitment to its students. Never lose hope; continue striving for excellence, and you will eventually achieve the best results,” he advised.
As part of his contribution, Zakari donated brand-new footballs, sets of jerseys, stockings, and other sporting equipment to support and enhance sporting activities in the school. The donation was warmly received by the school authorities and students, who expressed gratitude for his generosity and commitment to the development of sports at Kalpohin SHS.
The visit was characterized by moments of inspiration and motivation as Zakari shared experiences from his football career and encouraged students to believe in their potential regardless of the challenges they may face. His gesture serves as a powerful reminder of the importance of giving back to one’s roots and investing in the next generation. Through his support and words of encouragement, Zakari Mutawakil has once again demonstrated that success is not only measured by personal achievements but also by the positive impact one makes in the lives of others.
School authorities commended Zakari and his team for their thoughtful contribution and expressed hope that his example would inspire other alumni to support the growth and development of the institution
