BACE HOLDS THE 18TH MATRICULATION FOR FRESH STUDENTS

Bagabaga College of Education has held its 18th Matriculation Ceremony to usher in fresh students for the 2024/25 academic year, marking the beginning of their academic journey in the school.

About 5,100 students applied for admission, but only 502 students gained admission to the College.

Out of the total admitted students, 305 students are females. While 197 students are males. This represents 61 percent of girls and 39 percent of boys.

The highest intake of female students aligns with BACE’s gender parity and Inclusivity policy towards achieving Sustainable Development Goal 5.

Present at the matriculation ceremony were the Principal and Vice Principal of BACE, management of the College, Head of Departments, and Teaching and Non Teaching Staff.

The graduation ceremony which took place at the College’s auditorium on Saturday 1st March 2025, saw the Matriculants adorned with the dress code of BACE.

The 502 fresh students are spread across to pursue studies in Early Grade Education, Primary Education, and Junior High School Education.

The fresh students were led to swear an oath and allegiance to the school by the Principal of the school.

Addressing the audience on behalf of AAMUSTED, an affiliate of BACE, Professor Boateng acknowledged that about 8 colleges are affiliated with the school which provides skills and manpower knowledge to the colleges to train teachers into the system as well as build the capacity of the students to achieving their goals in future.

On his part, the Principal of Bagabaga College of Education, Professor Gazali Issahaku welcomed the students into the Institution, challenging them to live up to the task in front of them by stepping into their academic journey with all the seriousness it deserves as the College is equipped with facilities capable of creating conducive learning environment for their personal growth.

Professor Gazali also highlighted the decision of the College to admit more women than men, emphasizing that it aligns with the school’s policy to promote gender parity in line with achieving the UN’s Sustainable Development Goals 5.

He also admonished the students to make good friends while in school, which he believes will influence them positively to learn.
