Black Stars Captain Dede Ayew Paid a courtesy call on Yaa Naa Abukari II at Gbewaa palace in Yendi.

Ghana national team the black stars, captain Dede Ayew led the all stars festival team to Gbewaa Palace this afternoon in the capital of Dagbon Yendi.

The historic visit forms part of activities line up for the much publicized All Star Festival in Tamale.

Other notable stars who accompanied Andre Ayew to Yendi, were Wakaso Mubarak, Jordan Ayew, Abdul Fatawu Issahaku, and Felix Afenya Gyan as well as a crop of other players from various clubs within Tamale.

The contingent included Dr Ernest Koranteng of the BAC group fame, organizers of the All Star Festival.

In his welcome address, His majesty Yaa Naa Abukari II lauded the team for the visit and admonished the senior ones to be shining examples for the upcoming footballers. The overlord prayed for injury free and successful careers for all of them.

Captain Andre Ayew, on behalf of his teammates expressed gratitude to the Yaa Naa for his kind words and appealed for his continuous guidance and prayers. Join Ayew joined his elder brother and Mubarak Wakaso to present jerseys to the overlord on behalf of their colleagues.

The king of Dagbon as part of customs and tradition, offered a ram and smocks to the team as a way of appreciation.

The All Star Festival match comes off tonight, 6pm, between the All Star team and the Northern stars at the Aliu Mahama Stadium in Tamale.

The All Star Festival is an off season event that brings players together to socialize with fans to enhance peace and unity.
