Dr Bawumia Settles Medical Bills of Sick Children at Korle Bu Hospital Worth GHS 80,000 on Birthday

As he marks his 62nd birth day, Former Vice President of the Republic, Dr Mahamudu Bawumia, has settled medical bills for scores of children at the Department of Child Health of the Korle Bu Teaching Hospital.

The gesture forms part of activities commemorating his birthday by giving back to society especially helping those in dire need.

Leading a delegation to make the payments on behalf of the former Vice President, Mrs Kozie Akosua Manu, a Special Aide at Dr. Bawumia’s office, explained that the initiative was inspired by Dr Bawumia’s compassion for children, especially those facing health challenges.

In a facebook post by Dr. bawumia’s Special Aides, they indicated that more than GHS 80,000 was donated towards the payment of medical bills and the purchase of essential medicines for the children.

The In-charges of the respective wards at Korle Bu Teaching Hospital received the funds on behalf of the beneficiaries and expressed heartfelt appreciation to Dr Bawumia and his team for the gesture done.
