The Executive Director and Head of Research at the Global InforAnalytics, Musah Dankwah has taken a swipe at Vice President, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia over his visitations to churches for service purposes after gaining the nod to lead the NPP into the 2024 elections.
According to the Pollster, the former Vice President’s action did not help his cause as the Muslim Community in Ghana did not like the way he portrayed himself in the name of religious tolerance and inclusion prior to the 2024 general polls.
While Speaking in a one-on-one interview with Paul Adom Okyere on Good Evening Ghana Programme on Metro TV, he admonished Dr. Bawumia to desist from visiting churches to partake in their activities going forward, if he still wants to run for the presidency, stressing that he should stop going to churches because the Muslims did not like the idea.
When interrogated further on the issue by the host, he postulated that he should remain who he is as a Muslim and stop visiting churches.
”There were things that he(Bawumia) was doing and the Muslim community didn’t like. The going was really too much. If he continues doing that the vote will still be coming down. he should stop. Truth be told people must tell him why he lost. He should be who he is(Muslim). You can go to an event, take part in the event ceremonially but taking a handkerchief, singing, dancing and jumping is not part of your Islamic religion.
It really affected him among the Muslim Communities. They just couldn’t hold that”.
