‎The Office of the Minister for Education has issued a clarification regarding concerns over recent administrative appointments to the Ambariya Islamic Education Unit, stating that the Ghana Education Service (GES) acted solely on nominations submitted by representatives of the Ambariya Islamic Community.

‎The clarification follows media reports in which the Leader of the Ambariya Islamic Community, Sheikh Saeed Zakaria, reportedly raised concerns about the omission of certain individuals from appointment letters issued for the operationalization of the newly established education unit.

‎In a statement signed by the Press Secretary to the Minister for Education, Hashmin Mohammed, the Ministry explained that the process leading to the establishment and staffing of the Ambariya Islamic Education Unit involved extensive consultations between the Ghana Education Service and representatives of the Ambariya Islamic Community.

‎According to the statement, the Community was represented during the consultations by Professor Abdulai Salifu Asuro, who led engagements on its behalf throughout the process.

‎The Ministry noted that as part of the agreed arrangements, the Director-General of the Ghana Education Service requested the submission of names and curriculum vitae of individuals proposed for appointment to the Unit. Subsequently, Professor Asuro formally submitted a list of nominees approved by the Community’s representatives for consideration.

‎The statement emphasized that all appointments issued by the Ghana Education Service were based entirely on the nominations received from the Ambariya Islamic Community’s designated representatives.

‎”The Ghana Education Service acted solely on the recommendations and nominations contained in the submission received from the representatives of the Ambariya Islamic Community,” the statement said.

‎As a result, the Ministry maintained that any concerns regarding omissions, exclusions, or additions of names in the appointment letters should be directed to the representatives who submitted the nominations rather than the Ghana Education Service or the Minister for Education.

‎The Office further stressed that it would be inaccurate to attribute the matter to the Education Minister, Hon. Haruna Iddrisu, who, according to the statement, played no role in determining the specific individuals nominated for appointment.

‎The Ministry reaffirmed its commitment to maintaining a constructive relationship with the Ambariya Islamic Community and expressed confidence that any misunderstandings arising from the issue could be resolved through dialogue, mutual respect, and adherence to the facts.

Details

Published by Inusah Dondaliya

Date: 9th June 2026

Veteran Northern Regional Communications Team Membe of the NPP, Alhaj Kaleem Ibrahim, has reaffirmed his commitment to lead the NPP to victory when given the nod as Deputy Regional Secretary.

Reflecting on his declaration of intent, he described himself as a dedicated long-serving party person with experience in grassroots mobilization, team building, party reorganization, co-ordination and and mapping out strategies to outwit opponents.

Alhaj Kaleem, who has his roots in Karaga goes into the contest with a motto: ‘Fight and Fight Until Victory’, signifying his unwillingness to quit regardless the debacles.

In a statement issued on Tuesday, 9th June 2026, Alhaj Kaleem pleads with King Makers of NPP in the region to repose confidence in his person by giving him the mandate to serve the people especially the grassroots.

Below is statement of intent by Alhaj Kaleem Ibrahim

INTENTION TO CONTEST THE ASSISTANT SECRETARY OF NPP IN NORTHERN REGION.

Ladies and gentlemen. Let me first of all say a very good morning to the entire elephant fraternity. Briefly, I have been a committed and dedicated member of Npp since 1992. As a very loyal member, I attempted severally to serve a leadership role but to no avail. One may be astonished as to why I consistently bounced back in any given period since 2005.

This action categorically spelled out the explanation of my long standing motto Fight Fight Until Victory. It also chronicles the saying that Quitters never win and Winners never Quite. Many great politicians acted same until victory danced on their favour.

I strongly believe that my previous elections defeats are not base on the fact that I am not competent, but something call external forces in every internal elections which normally doesn’t favour me.

Continue pushing, I again believe that Allah will turn the his favour on me this time around. The party at this moment need to parade competent and unbreakable front to battle hard in making DMB the next President of Ghana.

Ladies and gentlemen, it is obvious that reality has catched up with NDC since almost all their lead policies they promised Ghanaians during 2024 elections has become a very huge mirage. The 24 Hour Economy is not visible, the Ghanaian women are still waiting for their development bank, the farmers out there did not understand the scenario going on, the cocoa farmers haircut is emphatically a serious calamity, Galamsay fighting in limbo and finally Signing LGTBQ + bill is problematic.

This doesn’t guarantee us as a party to be complacency in terms of working hard towards victory 2028. The only important issue now is to bury our differences and Unite the party for victory 2028. Action and reaction that always causes disunity and distractions must be absolutely avoided to pave way for the party fortunes.

The party for the past decades has corrupted an internal sickness which needs a very serious medical attention. This virus called CABAL is chopping up this party gradually and many has ignored its treatment. I therefore call on the party authorities to treat this with serious antidotes. DMB has been a party leader before, hence the most important item now is to make him the next President of Ghana.
To some of us, the intelligence gathered speaks out clearly that the Presidency of DMB comes January 7th 2029 is ordained, the pens has been lifted and the pages has dried. But that doesn’t guarantee us to be complacency when it comes to organising the party

. Ladies and gentlemen of the elephant fraternity, the chief executive department (secretariat) is an essential outfit, hence needs to parade competent caretakers who can stand any political debate both the local language and the English segment at any given period. Once again making DMB the next President is very necessary hence electing the chief executive officers must not be compromise in anyway. At this juncture, ladies and gentlemen, I Alhaji Kaleem M Ibrahim deem it necessary to once again forward myself to be elected as the next Assistant Regional Secretary of the party.

I have previously worked closely with many experience politicians in the family for more than 3 decades, which has blessed me with rich experience when it comes to party work. Having learned under the first ever Regional Chairman Alhaji Salifu C.O.P, the late Veep Alhaji Aliu Mahama, Alhaji Hindu, Hon Mustapha Hamid, Hon Musah Superior, Hon Amin Adam Anta, Hon Clifford Bramah, Alhaji Baba Kadiago, Hajia Fati Wabgu, Alhaji Arimiyaw to mention but few.

Experience in terms of party organisations will not be a thing to be worried. I am also part of the veteran communicator who is still active in the communication work of the party. I therefore use this as an opportunity to remind the kingmakers of the party(Delegates) that you have four (4) seconds to make a decision which will take four(4) years to get such opportunity hence making such decision need serious attention. Let me also indicate to the delegates that this is my seventh (7th) attempt seeking for a mandate to work for the party as an executive. I will surely circum after this coming elections either victory or another disappointment.

This decision comes from the fact that seven(7) attempts is enough to appeal from the delegates for a node to serve the party. Vote for Alhaji Kaleem M Ibrahim as your next Assistant Regional Secretary of Northern Region. Thank you.
