First Batch of Ghanaian Pilgrims have arrived at Saudi Arabia safely for the performance of this year’s Hajj.
The first flight took off in Tamale during the afternoon on Saturday, 10th May2025, at the Tamale International, conveying about 4,017 prospective pilgrims who have undertaken all the laid protocols.
The safe arrival of the Ghanaian Prospective pilgrims through the efforts of Hajj Taskforce marks progressive step towards ensuring remarkable Hajj for pilgrims this year without any hitch.
On behalf o the His Excellency, John Dramani Mahama, the Interior Minister, Muntaka Mubarak visited the Hajj Village at the Airport to bid farewell to the prospective pilgrims on the trip to be embarked. In company with the Minister was Education Minister, Haruna Iddrisu, Minister of Environment, Science and Technology, the Northrern Regional Minister, Tamale Mayor and Members of the 2025 Hajj Taskforce.
Government have disclosed that about 5,000 people are expected to embark on the spiritual journey to Saudi Arabia to worship Allah, seeking for mercy and blessings.
