Germany U20 handed Ghana’s Black Satellites a crushing 5-0 defeat in an international friendly

The black Satellites of Ghana suffered an embarrassing 5-0 defeat in hands of Germany U20 side an international friendly on Monday 14th October 2024

Sounding a warning bell for the Ghanaians ahead of the 2024 WAFU B qualifiers. The German team dominated from the start, with Ansah scoring in just the 2nd minute, followed by Weiper’s goal in the 13th minute.

Ansah secured his brace before halftime, and Bischof added a fourth goal to leave the Black Satellites reeling The second half didn’t bring much respite for the Ghanaians, as Komur sealed the victory for Germany with a fifth goal in the 79th minute.

This heavy defeat comes as a surprise, considering the Black Satellites’ recent triumph in the 2023 African Games Men’s Football tournament.

However, it serves as a wake-up call for Head coach Desmond Ofei’s , team as they prepare for the U20 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) WAFU B qualifiers

The Black Satellites will face Togo, Benin, and Niger in Group A, and they’ll need to regroup quickly to ensure they’re ready for the challenges ahead.

Ghana is eager to secure a spot in both the 2025 U20 AFCON and the FIFA U20 World Cup, having last won the U20 AFCON in 2021
