The Head of Public Relations and Strategy at the Ghana Football Association (GFA), Neil Armstrong Mortagbe has challenged Real Tamale United’s (RTU) players and management to embody the spirit that formed the club in 1976.

Armstrong made these remarks on Monday September 23, 2024 as the guest speaker at RTU’s code of conduct, game development, and player unveiling ceremony held at the Red Clay Studio in Tamale.

“Remember the spirit that formed RTU,” Armstrong emphasized. “The club slogan ‘United we stand’ is not just words, but a living spirit. I urge players to be disciplined, sacrificial, and committed to return RTU to its rightful place.”

The event marked the unveiling of RTU’s players, technical team, officials, and management ahead of the upcoming Access Bank Division One League season. The club seeks to regain its status as a Ghana Premier League club.

During the ceremony, RTU players were taken through the laws of the game by former Fifa referee Haruna Ayuba and code of ethics of the club to guide them throughout the 2024/2025 season.

Armstrong’s call to action aims to inspire RTU to reclaim its position in Ghana’s top-flight football. Real Tamale United RTU will open their campaign in the 2024 /2025 Access Bank Division league at home to Wa Sore Nante at the Aliu Mahama sports studium on Sunday September 28.
