The President of the Ghana Football Association, Kurt Okraku, went above-board to voice out his opinion freely with force in his assessment of players of the Black Stars.
The West African giants are in danger of missing out on the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations tournament after a dismal run of results, so far, in their qualifying campaign.
A shocking defeat at home to Angola was followed by a draw against Niger, leaving Ghana languishing in third place in Group F with their ticket to the continental showpiece hanging by a thread.
And Okraku, in an address to the team on October 8 ahead of their crucial hurdle against Sudan, the domestic football governing boss, believes the current crop of players are simply not putting in the required effort.
“The minimum I expect, the minimum Ghana expects, is a team of boys or men who will show passion and desire to play for our country.
“Not when you are dribbling and you will be seen walking on the pitch and the ball is heading towards your net. That is impossible, I told the coach.
“It’s either you guys decide to die for Ghana or decide you will not, then you’ll never be selected,” he warned.
Black Stars will come up against Sudan at the Accra Sports Stadium on October 10 before flying to Libya for the return game on October 15.
