Ghana Football Awards: Thomas wins Best Player of the Season Award

Arsenal’s Dynamic Midfielder, Thomas Partey, has been named Ghana Men’s Footballer of the Year at the Ghana Football Awards held last night in Accra, following a sterling performance for club and country this season.

He beat off competition from colleague Black Stars Players, Inaki Williams, and Antoine Semenyo to scoop the award.

Thomas Partey becomes the only player to have won the awards three consecutive times having won the previous two editions.

Doris Boaduwaa, who plays for Hapoel Jerusalem, also won the Women’s Player of the Year award for his outstanding performances for both club and country.

She scored 18 goals and 4 assists in 26 games this season for her club. Thomas Partey also has a good season for Arsenal, helping the club reach the UEFA Champions League semi-finals.

Meanwhile, Sudanese Coach, James Akwasi Appiah was also named best Ghanaian Coach of the season.

Women’s Player of the Year – Doris Boaduwaa.

Men’s Player of the Year – Thomas Teye Partey

Women’s Football Coach of the Year – Abu Kasim, Police Ladies

Men’s Coach of the Year – James Kwesi Appiah, Coach of the Sudan National Team

Most Vibrant Club on Social Media – Medeama Sporting Club

Odartey Lamptey Future Awards/ Young Player of the Year – Jerry Afriyie

Living Legend Awards – Herbert Mensah, Harry Zakour, and Ken Bediako.

Club CEO of the Year – John Peter Amewu, Hohoe United

Female Home-based Footballer of the Year – Mary Bako, Police Ladies

Home-based player of the Year – Razak Simpson

Football For Good Award – Thomas Partey, and Tauriq Lampteh

Goalkeeper of the year – Emanuel Asare, Hearts of Oak.

Sports Special Fan Award – Francis Yaw Frimpong Pooley.

Goal of the Year: Abdul Razak Simpson

Male Team of the Year – Bibiani Gold Stars

Women’s Team of the Year – Police Ladies
