The Northern Regional Branch of the Ghana Journalists Association has launched the 5th edition of Northern Regional Journalists award.
The launch which was held in Tamale at the RCC on Tuesday,14th October 2025, is aimed at recognizing the hard work of Journalists in Northern and Savannah Regions.
The 2025 edition of the Northern Regional Journalists Association awards will be anchored on the theme: Bridging the Rural-Urban Education Gap: The Role of the Media”.
In attendance at the launch was Director of School for Life, Hajia Wedad Sayibu, who chaired the August occasion. Also present were several dignitaries including Northern Regional Minister, Ali Adolf Mburidiba, Northern Regional Police Commander, Heads of Department, Representatives of CSOs and NGOs. Some Journalists from the region and beyond also attended the launch.
In his keynote address during the launch, the Northern Regional Chairman of Ghana Journalists Association,Yakubu Abdul Majeed emphasised need for strong collaboration between the media and development partners including the government for the development of the communities.
Submission of published or aired stories by Journalists begins from Tuesday, October 14 to Tuesday October 28, 2025 at 6:00pm.The awards is only opened to Journalists whose works are published from 1st January 2024 to December 2024.
Among the award categories include education, Health, Tourism, Disability, Sports Agriculture Road Safety, among others.
