The Secretariat of G.P.R.T.U in the Northern Region has also registered its name in the fundraising record books of the Dagbon Development Plan, having presented 27,010 Ghana Cedis to the Dagbon Development Fund.
At a short ceremony at the G.P.R.T.U Secretariat on Wednesday, July 9th, 2025, at the Aboabo Market in Tamale, the Northern Regional Chairman of the Union, Alhaj Seidu Amadu, handed over the gesture to the Members of the Dagbon Development Fund Committee as their contribution towards the reconstruction of the Gbewaa Palace.
During the presentation, the Leader of G.P.R.U. called on members to contribute towards the rebuilding of the new Gbewaa Palace, acknowledging the significance of the project, representing the pride, and symbolizing the cultural heritage of the Dagbamba people.
Notwithstanding, he also entreats sub-groups of GPRU across the length and breadth of the region who have not contributed to the cause of the Dagbon Redevelopment Plan to endeavor to contribute accordingly to ensure that members also have a stake in the New Gbewaa Palace construction Process.
Receiving the cash donation, Member of the DDF Committee, and Surveyor on site at the reconstruction process, Dalung Warivi-Naa Abdulai Adam, thanked G.P.R.T.U. for the gesture, assuring to put the money into good use as the progress of work at the New Gbewaa Palace alone is a great testimony to their trustworthiness.
On his part, Mr.Nuhu Abukari, expresses appreciation for their support and appeals to members of GPRTU and other Transport Unions like A.Y., and VIP to also demonstrate goodwill by donating to the cause of the project.
