Haruna Iddrisu Supports 100 Women in Tamale South with GH¢2,000 Each to Boost Small Businesses

The Member of Parliament for Tamale South, Hon. Haruna Iddrisu, has provided financial support to 100 women in the constituency, giving each beneficiary GH¢2,000 as seed capital to establish or expand their businesses.
The beneficiaries, drawn from the communities of Jerigu, Gbashe, and Cheshe, received the support as part of the MP’s ongoing commitment to promoting women’s economic empowerment and improving livelihoods within the constituency.
Speaking during the presentation, Hon. Haruna Iddrisu reiterated the importance of empowering women through entrepreneurship, describing it as a critical step toward reducing poverty, creating sustainable incomes, and strengthening families and communities.
According to the MP, investing in women remains one of the most effective ways to drive inclusive development, adding that economic empowerment initiatives require the collective support of all stakeholders.
The women expressed appreciation for the intervention, noting that the financial assistance would help them expand existing businesses or venture into new economic activities.
The initiative forms part of a long-standing empowerment programme that Hon. Haruna Iddrisu has sustained for more than two decades, reflecting his continued commitment to supporting women and promoting economic growth in the Tamale South Constituency.
