Ghanaian giants Accra Hearts of Oak have announced they will using the University of Ghana Stadium as their temporal home grounds in the ongoing 2024/25 Ghana Premier League season.
This is due to the reason that the National Sports Authority (NSA) closed the stadium for urgent maintenance after receiving widespread of criticism regarding the poor condition of the pitch.
The stadium, inaugurated on March 2, has already demonstrated its capability by successfully hosting matches of the Africa Games Men’s Football tournament held in Accra .
They will now have to share the venue alongside regional rivals Legon Cities FC and Accra Lions FC- who also confirmed their intentions of using the same facility this afternoon.
The Rainbow Club have released a statement to that effect and will be playing at their new grounds for the first time this weekend against Bechem United in match-day 3 of the Ghana Premier League.
Hearts of Oak will have to redeem themselves with nothing but a win having lost their opening two matches against Basake Holy Stars and Kpando Heart of Lions over the weekend
