Emerging Ghana Premier League referee Nurudeen Abdul Hak has been appointed as the 1st Deputy Sports Committee Chair of the Students’ Representative Council (SRC) at the University for Development Studies (UDS) for the 2026/2027 academic year.
The appointment was announced in an official letter dated July 9, 2026, and signed by SRC President Umar Maryam Boresa and SRC General Secretary Abdallah Elham Tipagya.
According to the letter, Abdul Hak’s appointment takes immediate effect and is in line with the provisions of the UDS-SRC Constitution.
As the 1st Deputy Sports Committee Chair, he is expected to provide effective leadership and discharge his responsibilities with integrity, professionalism, transparency, and accountability in the interest of the student body.
The SRC also requested that the appointee formally confirm his acceptance of the position within three working days of receiving the appointment letter.
The President and the Executive Committee congratulated Abdul Hak on his appointment, expressing confidence in his ability to contribute meaningfully to sports development on campus.
Abdul Hak is regarded as one of Ghana’s promising young football referees, having steadily risen through the ranks to officiate in the Ghana Premier League.
Abdul Hack is a Bed ICT level 200 student at the University for Development Studies UDS Tamale campus his appointment is expected to strengthen sports administration at UDS by combining his experience in elite football officiating with student leadership.
