The Education Minister Minister, Hon. Haruna Iddrisu has fulfilled his pledge by presenting 188,000 Ghana Cedis to 47 medical Students under scholarship program of the late MP for Tamale Central, Alhaj Dr. Murtala Ibrahim Mohammed.
This comes after the Tamale South Legislator during the performance of the Funeral rites of the late MP, publicly announced to absorb the fees of all the 47 students studying medicine across Tertiary Institutions in Ghana under the benevolence of the late Minister of State following an appeal made by the beneficiaries having decried a void after his demise.
Senior Officers at the Haruna Institute led by Abdul Ganiu Sandoow presented receipts of payment of the school fees to the beneficiaries to formalize payments at their respective schools to continue pursuing their dreams in health education.
During the presentation, Mr. Ganiu Sandoow indicated that the payment was done by Hon. Haruna Iddrisu aimed at eulogizing, commemorating the memories of the Hon. Murtala as well as completing the legacy of the departed venerable MP, who prioritized education of people in his Constituency.
The Final Funeral ‘Adua'(Prayers) was held for the late Dr. Murtala Ibrahim Mohammed on Tuesday, 12th August, 2025, in Tamale in line with Islamic Teachings and Practices with several dignitaries in attendance including government functionaries and NDC’s top echelons. Stalwarts of the Opposition NPP were also present to mourn with the family.
Just today, 15th August 2025, Government held a state burial for the 8 heroes who lost their lives in helicopter crash in Adansi near Obuasi in the Ashanti Region while en route to launch anti- illegal Mining Program.
