The DCE of Karaga, Hon. Iddrisu Yakubu Dasana has appealed to the people in the district to take sanitation issues seriously for their well-being and healthy lifestyle, emphasizing that poor sanitation conditions has served as major setback to the development of the area.
According to the DCE, the citizens must eschew indiscriminate disposal of waste to avoid littering of the environment, for their own safety against health risks, urging stakeholders to also educate citizens against the indiscriminate dumping of refuse.
The DCE made this call when he commissioned health facility for the people of Takalgu in the Karaga district for use, aimed at improving access to healthcare services amongst the people.
The facility which was commissioned on Wednesday 1st October, 2025 by the DCE is fitted with necessary medical equipment and handed over to the district health directorate to enforce its operationalization to benefit the rural folks.
Gracing the Durbar were Chiefs, elders, and residents of the community who gathered to witness the event, marking a milestone in the health delivery chain in the district.
Addressing the people, the DCE urged the health professionals to adopt good maintenance culture of the facility and medical equipment, urging the chief and the people of the community to also own the facility, by taking good care of it to serve its purpose.
The residents also thanked the DCE for the good work done by establishing the facility as intervention to improve healthcare system in the Takalgu community and surrounding communities.
