Karela United named former Great Olympics boss Jimmy Cobblah as coach

Ghana Premier League side Karela United have appointed trainer Jimmy James Cobblah as their new head coach.

The club announced on Wednesday, July 17, confirming that Cobblah has signed a two-year contract.

“We are excited to announce the signing of Jimmy James Cobblah as our head coach on a two-year contract! Welcome to the club, coach Cobblah, as we gear up for an exciting season ahead,” Karela United posted on their official Twitter account.

The appointment of Cobblah has seen coach Abukari Damba reverted back to his assistant coach role after successfully guiding Karela United to safety in the 2023/24 league season.

Under Damba’s leadership, the team secured two consecutive wins in their final matches, finishing 12th in the league standings.

Cobblah brings a wealth of experience to Karela United, having previously managed teams such as Inter Allies and Great Olympics.

His extensive background in Ghanaian football is expected to be a significant asset as he takes on the challenge of leading Karela United in the upcoming season.
