A delegation believed to be Abudu inclined from Dagbon, led by Kari Naa, Natogmah Abdullah paid a courtesy call to the Former President, Nana-Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo to formally inform him about the performance of funeral rites of the late Mionlana Abdulai Mahamadu.
The delegation conveyed information that the funeral rites will commence on May 23rd, and wrap up on 30th May 2025 in line with the customs and traditions of Dagbon.
The purpose of the visit dated Friday, May 2nd, 2025 was borne out of the cordial relations that existed between the former president and the late Paramount Chief while he was alive which led to full restoration of peace in Dagbon, coupled with cooperation from other chiefs, notably, the Paramount Chief of Savelugu, Abdulai Yakubu Andani.
He was enskinned as MION LANA on the 3rd of March 2019.
On August 17th, 2022, a little over two years ago, the Paramount Chief of Mion, Naa Abdulai Mahamadu passed away aged 48, at the hospital in Accra after illness.
Performance of the late Mion Lana’s Funeral rites is scheduled from 23rd to 30th May 2025 in consonance with Dagbon’s customs and traditions.
The Kari Naa’s delegation consists of traditional leaders, including the regent of Mion, Alhassan Abdulai, and the former Northern Regional Minister, Alhaj Shani Alhassan Sayibu.
