Defending champions Lungsi Clan emerged victorious in the 6th edition of the Dasuma Radio Clan Soccer Tournament, defeating Laabansi Clan 5-2 in a thrilling penalty shootout on Monday, December 30, 2024, at the Yendi Astro Turf.
Laabansi Clan took an early lead through Abdul Rashid’s long-range drive in the 20th minute
Lungsi Clan equalized in the 57th minute through Abdulai Abdul Latif’s goal, sending the game into penalties
Laabansi Clan’s goalkeeper, Mohammed Issahaku Kaba, missed his team’s first penalty kick
Lungsi Clan scored all their first 3 penalties, securing a 5-2 victory
This win marks Lungsi Clan’s successful title defense, solidifying their position as a dominant force in the tournament.
In the individual awards, Mohammed Musah Sumaila of Lungsi Clan was adjourned the best goalkeeper of the tournament, Yussif Mohammed won the best midfielder ward, Adam Tijani of Laabansi clan won best defender after his strong performance, goal king went to Mohammed Nafiw of Sapashinima , Alslam most promising player , whiles Abdul Rashid Lungsi won the best player of the tournament.
