Black Stars coach Otto Addo has confirmed that Mohammed Kudus will lead Ghana as captain in their crucial 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) qualifier against Sudan on Thursday, October 10.
Kudus takes on the captaincy role in the absence of stand-in captain Thomas Partey and Andre Ayew.
Partey was forced to withdraw from the squad due to medical concerns, as Arsenal requested he undergo further tests in London. Andre Ayew, who has also been a key figure in the team, is unavailable for the upcoming matches, leaving Kudus to step up as the leader on the field.
Kudus, who has been a key player for both club and country, will be tasked with leading the Black Stars in these crucial back-to-back encounters against Kwesi Appiah’s Sudan.
With Ghana securing just one point from their first two matches in the qualifiers, the stakes are high as they aim to reignite their campaign and secure a spot in the 2025 AFCON tournament
