Former Chief Executive Officer of Real Tamale United (RTU), Mr. Zakaria Safianu, popularly known as Coach Sof, has officially bid farewell to the club following the conclusion of his tenure on August 1, expressing gratitude to the club’s leadership, players, staff, supporters, and stakeholders for their unwavering support during his time in office.

In a heartfelt statement of appreciation, Mr. Safianu thanked the Board Chairman and the Patron of the club for entrusting him with the responsibility of leading one of Ghana’s most historic football clubs.

Reflecting on his time at RTU, he described it as a privilege to have worked with a dedicated group of players and staff who remained committed to the club’s growth both on and off the field.

“It was a true honour to lead this talented group. We built a strong team based on hard work, respect, and high standards. Every single staff member gave their all to help the club grow. I leave knowing the foundations are set for massive future success,” he stated.

Mr. Safianu also reserved special appreciation for the club’s supporters and stakeholders, acknowledging their unwavering loyalty throughout his tenure.

He praised the RTU faithful for standing firmly behind the team during both victories and difficult moments, describing them as the true custodians of the club’s rich heritage.

“Thank you for your fierce passion, loyalty, and noise on every matchday. We shared great wins, tough losses, and unforgettable moments together. You are the true owners of this historic club. Keep pushing the team forward with your unconditional support,” he said.

Although stepping down from his role, the former CEO emphasized that his affection for the club remains undiminished. He expressed optimism about RTU’s future and wished the owners, management, and incoming leadership every success as they continue the club’s journey.

“My time here has ended, but my love for this club will remain forever. I wish the owners, management, and incoming leadership the absolute best. May the upcoming seasons bring the trophies our supporters deserve,” he noted.

Concluding his farewell message, Mr. Safianu said he is ready to embrace a new challenge, marking the end of one chapter and the beginning of another in his football administration career.

His departure closes an important chapter in the recent history of Real Tamale United, with supporters expected to closely follow the club’s next steps under new leadership.
