The President of the Republic, John Dramani Mahama has disclosed that Nalerigu College of Nursing and Midwifery has been selected among colleges that will be upgraded to degree-awarding institutions.
President Mahama announced this to a rapturous crowd at the Nalerigu Sports Complex as part of his ‘thank you’ to the North-East Region.
“The Nalerigu College of Nursing and Midwifery is one of the colleges that have been selected for upgrading into a degree-awarding institution”, President Mahama revealed.
The President also ceased the moment to hint that the monthly allowances for Nurses will be paid by next month.
“I can assure you, your ‘alawa’ is being worked on. And by next month you will start receiving payment”, the President further said.
As part of his address to the people of North-East, President Mahama indicated he has tasked CEO of Exim Bank, to mobilize funds in ensuring that the Water Melon Factory in Walewale is completed to benefit the people, adding that his government will also establish Rice Mill factory in the district to boost local production of rice for consumption by Senior High schools in the region and create job opportunities for the teaming youth.
