The 2024 Flagbearer of the NPP, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia continues to enjoy support in the build up to NPP’s Presidential Primaries as Former Northern Regional Communications Director for Hon. Kennedy Agyapong’s Campaign team, Zakaria Yakubu, widely known as ‘Nam Zakali’ has thrown his support to the Former Vice President, touting his credentials.
According to ‘Nam Zakali’, among the candidates vying to lead the NPP, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia is the best Candidate, capable of winning the 2028 General Elections.
In a statement released today, 6th July 2025, to throw his weight behind Dr. Bawumia, ‘Nam Zakali’ outlines features such as gentility, respectfulness, brilliance, and humility embedded in the Former which serves as a catalyst to inform his decision to support him following careful assessment between the two leading contenders, Dr.Mahamudu Bawumia and Kennedy Ohene Agyapong.
‘Nam Zakali’ said in the statement that “After the last presidential primaries up to the general elections in 2024, I made some assessment on my own about the two contenders Dr Mahamudu Bawumia and Hon Kennedy and have come to realized that, the gentle, respectful, brilliant and humble nature of Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia is worth supporting to lead our party NPP again for victory going to the 2028 general election. With all the qualities I have mentioned above, H.E. Alhaji Dr Mahamudu Bawumia is the best person to lead our party at this critical time, the party finds itself.
Meanwhile, Mr. Zakaria Yakubu also expressed his commitment to using his knowledge and sense of judgment to lead the NPP again for victory in the 2028 elections.
“Even though I don’t have resources, but with the little knowledge and sense God has blessed me with, I will put all to bear to support Dr Mahamudu Bawumia to lead the party again for victory in 2028”.
