Nanton MP calls for calm, urges Security agencies to restore peace in the area

The Member of Parliament for Nanton, Dr Mohammed Sherif Abdul-Khalid has appealed to residents of Nanton to remain calm and allow peace to prevail following eruption of violence in the area, claiming a life.

Dr.(Med) Sherif Abdul-Khalid also urged the security agencies in the district to act with the utmost professionalism to ensure the restoration of peace and build
confidence within the community, highlighting significance of peace, unity, and togetherness that brings development to the people.

In a Press release today, Monday 6th October 2025, and sighted by Ghananewsnet.com, Hon. Abdul Khalid expressed his heartfelt condolences to the family of Seidu Ibrahim who tragically passed on through the disturbance.

The MP also extended his best wishes for those who sustained degree of injuries following the disturbance, wishing them a full speedy recovery.

Earlier Yesterday, the MP made time to visit the victims at the hospital to empathize with them on their sick beds.

I am deeply saddened by the unfortunate violent incident that occurred in Nanton. My
heartfelt condolences goes to the family of Seidu lbrahim, who tragicaly lost his life in the disturbances.

I also extend my best wishes for a full and speedy recovery to those who sustained injuries.

Earlier yesterday, I visited the victims at the hospital. Some have been treated and discharged, while the remaining one is responding well to treatment.

l appeal to all residents of Nanton to remain calm and allow peace to prevail. Let us not allow this tragic event to divide us as people. I further urge the security agencies to act with the utmost professionalism to ensure the restoration of peace and to build
confidence within our community.
