Nanumba South: Revoke Appointment of Non-Party Members to NADMO District Office – NDC

Published on Wednesday June 11 2025

The NDC Members in the Nanumba South have expressed grave concern over the recruitment of some people into the National Disaster Management office in Wulensi by the Director-General, emphasizing that the appointments given undermine loyalty, sacrifice, and commitment, which underpin the principles of the party.

According to the NDC, the recruits to the NADMO Office are not loyalists of the party but people who betrayed the party during the 2024 elections and threw their weight behind the Independent Candidate to win the seat.

At a press conference in Wulensi on Tuesday, 10th June 2025, the Communications Officer for the Constituency questions why individuals who broke away and undermined the party will be rewarded with positions while the core party members who genuinely supported the party to come to government live without jobs,

The Communications Officer noted that such appointment decisions not only demoralize die-hard party members but are also detrimental to the unity, discipline, and morale of the party, especially at the grassroots level. While stressing that it also sends a dangerous message to depict that loyalty, sacrifice, and commitment to the party are optional and unrewarded, while betrayal is tolerated.

It is believed the Independent Member of Parliament for the Wulensi Constituency lobbied to secure appointment to his people, overlooking the NDC Members who fought tooth and nail to retain the NDC in power.

Following the development, NDC is seeking the revocation of the appointment of the people and replacing them with competent NDC faithful.

“It has come to our attention with deep concern that appointments have been made to the NADMO Office in the Nanumba South District by the National Coordinator following the return of H.E. John Dramani Mahama to the presidency in January 2025. These individuals, though once affiliated with the NDC, openly broke away from the party and threw their support behind the independent candidate and openly campaigned for him during the
just-ended 2024 elections. The question that lingers in the minds of many committed grassroots members is, How can individuals who actively undermined the party’s success now be rewarded
with key appointments under an NDC government”?

“Such developments, are not only demoralizing but also detrimental to the unity, discipline, and morale of the party, especially at the grassroots level. It sends a dangerous message. that loyalty,
sacrifice, and commitment to the party are optional and unrewarded, while betrayal is tolerated, and in these particular cases, rewarded”.

After the Press Conference, the members, including the Constituency Executives, marched to the District Assembly to submit a petition to him over Nadmo’s appointments saga.

Upon receiving the petition, the DCE expresses a commitment to act on the grievance.
