NDC Announces New Director of Elections for Northern Region

Tamale—Wednesday June 26, 2024.

In a significant development from the headquarters of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Mr. Arnold Mashud has been appointed as the new Director of Elections for the Northern region. This appointment follows a thorough review process by the Conflict Resolution Directorate, which recommended a change in leadership.

The appeal against the former Director of Elections, Mr. Aminu Mohammed Adam, initiated a comprehensive review by the Conflict Resolution Directorate. After careful consideration, the Directorate concluded that a new candidate was needed to ensure effective leadership in the region.

On April 23, 2023, the Functional Executive Committee (FEC) held an extensive meeting to deliberate on the Directorate’s recommendation. The committee unanimously endorsed the decision, leading to the official appointment of Mr. Arnold Mashud as the new Director of Elections.

The Party headquarters expressed confidence in Mr. Mashud’s capabilities and called for full cooperation and collaboration from all members to work towards the Party’s victory in the Northern region. This change is seen as a strategic move to strengthen the Party’s position and enhance its electoral success in the upcoming elections.
