The Director-General of the National Lottery Authority (NLA), Mohammed Abdul-Salam, has reaffirmed the Authority’s commitment to working closely with Lotto Marketing Companies (LMCs) and other key stakeholders to transform Ghana’s lottery industry and ensure its long-term sustainability.
In a Facebook post shared earlier this week, Mr. Abdul-Salam disclosed that he held a productive engagement with Lotto Marketing Companies, industry stakeholders, and strategic partners to discuss the future of the lottery sector and the ongoing reforms being undertaken by the Authority.
According to the Director-General, the discussions centered on strengthening collaboration between the NLA and its partners, addressing concerns affecting the industry, and identifying practical measures to support and retain Lotto Marketing Companies as the Authority implements its transformation agenda.
He emphasized that the success of the NLA’s reform efforts depends largely on the active participation and support of stakeholders across the lottery value chain.
“As we work to reposition the NLA and place the organization on a stronger footing for sustainable growth, the commitment and partnership of our Lotto Marketing Companies remain critical to our success,” Mr. Abdul-Salam stated.
The engagement forms part of broader efforts by the NLA leadership to modernize operations, improve stakeholder relations, enhance revenue generation, and strengthen regulatory oversight within the lottery industry.
Industry observers have welcomed the move, noting that continuous dialogue between the Authority and its partners is essential for addressing operational challenges and creating a more efficient and competitive lottery ecosystem.
Mr. Abdul-Salam expressed optimism about the future of the industry, stressing that collective efforts and innovative partnerships would help build a more resilient and prosperous lottery sector capable of contributing significantly to national development.
The National Lottery Authority remains the statutory body responsible for regulating and operating lottery activities in Ghana, with a mandate to ensure fairness, transparency, and sustainable growth within the sector.
