The northern regional minister Alhaji. Sani Alhassan Sayibu was this morning Friday, 29/03/2024 , took an inspection tour of the kalariga community dam for a possible dredging.
This dam has been a source of drinking water for the people of kalariga and the adjoining communities.
Communities such as Kukuo, Dabokpa, Dohan Naa yili, Kpanvo, Vittin and
Tuutingli have been fetching water from this dam whenever there is an acute water shortage in the aforementioned communities.
However, the dam had dried up as a result of the newly constructed inner roads within the larger Target community and it environs .
Hitherto , the dam used to harvest rain water that flows from the valley throught to the dam and now that the natural flowing watercourse usually the surface water source which is now diverted to a parapet gutter or an eaves gutter has led to the dried up of the dam .
The chiefs and residence of the aforementioned communities expressed their gratitude to the Hon. minister for responding to their calls .
