Pearlpia ladies FC are on the brink of been relegated from the Malta Guinness Women’s premier after losing 0-2 to Northern zone leaders Ampem Dakoa ladies at Kulikuli school Astro turf in Tamale.
The visitors took the lead on the 40th minutes through Jennifer Owusuaa brilliant run down the left flanks of Pearlpia ladies defense to put more pressure on the host.
Pearlpia ladies struggled to creat any meanful chances in the first half and allowed Ampem Dakoa ladies with so much space on the ball to dictate the pace for them.
Things even got worst for Pearlpia in the second half, when Ophelia Serwaa Amposah scored a goal of the season contender , when her powerful strike from an acute angle went pass goalkeeper Lydia in the 61st minutes to the double the Techiman base club advantage.
The win this afternoon has taken Ampem Dakoa ladies to 33 points on the Malta Guinness Women’s premier league northern zone table , whiles Pearlpia ladies remained rooted to second bottom on 15 points, with two games to spare.
Coach Baba Nuhu Mallam’s side will now rely heavily on their protest cases against Ash-town ladies and Supreme ladies to stand any realistic chance of surviving the league .
In the other match in the northern zone, another relegation threaten side Kumasi sports academy outclassed Ash-town ladies at the Bantama Astro turf in Kumasi, to defeat them 3-0 to boast their premier league survival with 19 points .
