The NDC Parliament Candidate for Tamale Central Constituency Prof. Alidu Mahama Seidu has filed his nomination forms to contest the upcoming by-election slated for 30th September 2025.

Prof. Alidu submitted his forms at the EC’s office in the Tamale Metro on Wednesday 2025.

This follows his landslide victory in the NDC’s Tamale Central Parliamentary Primary with 840 votes to beat his colleague Contenders to become Parliamentary Candidate as replacement to Hon. Murtala Ibrahim Mohammed following his sudden demise in a helicopter crash along with seven others.

During the filing process, scores of party faithful including the Constituency Executives led by Constituency Chairman, Issahaku Umar Farouq accompanied the NDC Parliamentary Candidate to file his nomination forms to contest the seat.

Barring any unforseen circumstances, Prof. Alidu Mahama Seidu is widely tipped to be the next MP for Tamale Central after his overwhelming endorsement by the NDC delegates in the Tamale Central Constituency.

Reports are rife that he is going unopposed in the by-election contest as efforts by other candidates to file for the contest proved futile.
