Real Tamale United Issues Apology Over Misconduct in Match Against Dreams FC

Tamale—Saturday June 15,2024.

In a heartfelt statement, the Management of Real Tamale United (RTU) Football Club has issued an unqualified apology to the Ghana Football Association (GFA), their supporters, and the general public for the misconduct that occurred during their fixture against Dreams FC on June 12, 2024, in Dawu.

The club acknowledged the use of unregistered players in the match, which has resulted in charges from the GFA.The statement emphasized that the action was neither deliberate nor intended to undermine the integrity of Ghanaian football.

The club cited a series of challenges they have faced throughout the year, which have contributed to their difficult circumstances and imminent relegation from the Premier League.”We have gone through some difficult moments this year; a situation that is culminating in our exit from the premier league,” the statement read. “However, the club courts for mercy and sympathy from the general public and the GFA as we strive to reorganize and build a team that all of us will be proud of.”RTU expressed deep regret for the incident, reaffirming their commitment to ensuring such actions do not recur.

The club underscored their respect for the sport and their dedication to upholding its values.”We express our regret again and assure that this will NEVER happen again. The club is SORRY,” the statement concluded.
