Astute Football Administrator based in the UK, Ibrahim Gagbuni Doo who doubles as a bankroller of FC Tamale, has chastised the Ghana Football Association for a grand scheme against teams from the North, labeling the FA’s action as systematic agenda against Northern clubs.

His outbursts came following RTU’s 2-1 defeat to Eleven Wonders in the Division One playoff staged at the Accra Sports Stadium on Friday 30th May 2025.

Mr. Gagbuni seemed not to be enthused with happenings that characterized the game, especially with officiation, which he believes was compromised in the very eyes of the GFA Officials, championed by Kurt Okraku, the GFA President.

In a Facebook comment on Friday, 30th June 2025, Mr. Gagbuni widened his criticism of the GFA, accusing the Kurt-led administration of selective treatment, the consistent snubbing of players from Northern teams for national team call-ups, and the one-sided officiating, contributing to undermining the credibility of Ghana football.

Touching on the Division One League playoff, the FC Tamale CEO noted that, what transpired in the match between RTU and Eleven Wonders was not just a disgrace to football, but was a deep wound to the pride and dignity of the entire Northern Region. He stressed that the FA perpetrated repeated injustices on the people of the North not only creating the feeling of paranoia among Northerners Following the defeat suffered by RTU.

Kurt Okraku Ghana FA Must Uphold the True Spirit of the Game.

What transpired in the match between RTU and Eleven Wonders was not just a disgrace to football, it was a deep wound to the pride and dignity of the entire Northern Region. Once again, we watched helplessly as decisions and actions on the pitch reflected a disturbing and deliberate bias. The feeling across the North is not paranoia, it is a pain born from repeated injustice. The FA’s silence and inaction in the face of such patterns have become a loud confirmation of a systematic agenda against Northern clubs.

Football is built on fairness, respect, and sportsmanship. When these pillars are compromised, the sport loses its soul. The selective treatment, the consistent snubbing of players from Northern teams for national team call-ups, and the one-sided officiating are not isolated issues, they form a dangerous pattern that undermines the credibility of Ghana football.

To my brothers in the North, enough is enough. Talking to us all the time means nothing when our clubs, players, and fans are continuously disrespected and disregarded in this manner. ( am left with no choice but to agree with sister Sirena Issah that, people who claim to be friends and family, when we have issues, will be the first to come to us, making us feel they want to help us but behind the scenes, they are cutting your liver with a knife, so they can kill you without you knowing. This is what they do to us all the time.

This is not just a football issue. It is an insult to our identity and our contribution to the national game.

As the FA embarks on a so-called “development ” of Ghana football, let that development start within its walls. We demand transparency, equity, and above all, respect. Ghana football must be one game, one people, not a system of exclusion and favoritism. The North deserves better. Ghana football deserves better.
