SANKARA NATIONALS APPOINT ABUKARI DAMBA AS SUBSTANTIVE COACH

Sankara Nationals FC have announced the appointment of Abdul Rahaman Abukari Damba as the substantive Coach for the club.

The Yendi-based Division One League Club, took to its official Facebook account today, Monday, 29th December 2025 to announce his appointment.

“The Legendary is back home where everything started.Sankara Nationals Fc is proud to announce the appointment of Coach Abubakari Damba as our new head coach”, the club announced.

His appointment follows a technical void that has been left in the club following the departure of Coach Mohammed Bashiru(Joe Baah) after guiding the side to play just 5 matches in the Division One League.

Assistant Coach Francis Bawumia has been taking charge of the club all this while as the interim Coach, enduring indifferent results in the ongoing Division One League, resulting to the Management of the club hiring a substantive Coach to fill in the void.

Coach Abukari Damba brings remarkable wealth of experience into the club having coached a premier league side, Karela United.Thus, he is expected to change the fortunes of the club through enhanced performance and results driven goal to consolidate their stay in the Division One League.

Sankara Nationals FC played 1-1 draw with Tamale City at the Aliu Mahama Sports Stadium on Saturday.
