Secretary to the late Bamvim Chief files over GHC1million defamatory suit against Radio Tamale, Chief of Manguli
The Secretary of late Bamvim Chief, Mr.Mohammed Abdulai has filed a defamatory suit against Chief of Manguli, Alhassan Abdul-Rahaman and Radio Tamale for damaging his hard-earned reputation beyond repairs through publication of Press Conference organized by the Former.
The law suit also included Broadcast Journalist of Radio Tamale, Alhassan D. Baba for broadcasting the reports on the Media Outlet.
Filing the suit at the Tamale High Court on behalf of his client, Barrister Yvette Asare Badu, seeks declaration that the statements published by the defendants are defamatory.
The Lawyer’s application is also praying on the court for general damages for libel in a sum of One Million and Five Hundred thousand Ghana Cedis(1, 500,000.00) .
The suit also seeks relief that the court should grant perpetual injunction restraining the defendants from further defamatory statements on the complainant.
As part of the relief, the lawyer is also demanding retraction and unqualified apology from the defendants to the complainant.
The defamatory suit follows a statement from defendants directing at complainant claiming he has changed a site plan from Manguli Kukuo to Bamvim-Kukuo for his own advantage.
