Salifu Barikisu, a Tamale-based center referee, has received her FIFA badge, making her one of eight female referees to receive this honor in Accra yesterday 21 January 2025
This achievement is a testament to her hard work and dedication to the sport over the last decade, becoming the city’s first-ever Female FIFA referee.
As part of the 2025 FIFA badge recipients, Barikisu will join 21 other Ghanaian referees who have also received their badges .
This year’s list includes 10 center referees and 10 assistant referees, with 12 male referees and assistants, and 8 female referees and assistants.
The Ghana Football Association President, Kurt Edwin Simeon-Okraku, congratulated the officials on this milestone, urging them to be great ambassadors for Ghana Football
