Head Coach Francis Bawumia has raised concerns about Walewale Catholic Stars FC’s dire financial situation, citing it as the primary factor behind their poor start to the season.
Following a 4-1 defeat to Real Tamale United (RTU), Coach Bawumia revealed in a post-match interview that financial constraints have severely impacted the team’s performance.
“Financially, we’re struggling, and we desperately need support,” he admitted. “While our technical skills are adequate, external factors like funding are crucial to securing maximum points. Our biggest challenge is money.”
The team’s financial struggles are reflected in their three consecutive league losses.
Coach Bawumia made an impassioned appeal to the public for assistance:
“We urge the people of Mamprugu and Ghana as a whole to support us. With their help, they’ll witness the best of Catholic Stars.”
