The Overlord of Dagbon, His Royal Majesty, Ya-Na Abukari II has assured to collaborate with the Northern Regional Minister, Hon. Ali Adolf John Mburidiba to foster peace and economic growth and development in the Northern Region.
The Ya-Na also urged the Regional Minister to work hard to curb religious intolerance in Tamale, tackle the Yendi water crisis, and fight against drug abuse which has consumed the youth of today as they engage in the use of tramadol and other hard substances ruining their future.
In a speech through his spokesperson, Zangbalung Lana Jacob Yakubu Mahama pledged the King and traditional authorities’ support for the Minister to thrive in bringing development to the region after a visit to the minister.
A delegation of Dagbon Traditional Leadership on behalf of Ya-Na, paid a courtesy call to the regional Minister at his office on Monday, 7th April 2025 at the Regional Coordinating Council.
The delegation of the traditional authorities was led by Nanton Naa, Mahamadu Bawah. Other members included Chogu Naa Alhassan Mahamadu, Nyankpala Lana, Ibrahim Salifu, Zagbalung Naa Jacob Yakubu Mahama, Regent of Banvum, Mahama Alhassan and P.R.O at the Gbewaa Palace, Yakubu Musah.
On his part, the Northern Regional Minister also assures to partner with the traditional leaders to tackle the issues brought to his attention, especially the issue of security in the region.
Hon. Ali Adolf seized the occasion to brief the chiefs on the security deployment to Zabzugu district to curb the tension brewing out of the area as a result of a protest against a DCE nominee by some residents following his nomination by the president.
