Baba Rahman Retains Favourite No.17 Jersey As Black Stars Intensify Preparations‎‎

‎Ghana defender Baba Abdul Rahman has officially retained his favourite No.17 jersey after making his long-awaited return to the Ghana national football team camp ahead of the upcoming international friendly against Wales national football team and preparations for the 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers.

‎The experienced left-back arrived in camp on Tuesday morning alongside Paul Reverson and Christopher Bonsu Baah as preparations continued at Dragon Park in Cardiff.



‎The trio immediately joined the squad for the afternoon training session, increasing the number of players in camp to 16 after 13 players reported on Monday to begin preparations for the crucial international assignments.

‎Players already in camp include Ernest Nuamah, Brandon Thomas-Asante, Jordan Ayew, Caleb Yirenkyi, Abdul Fatawu Issahaku, Elisha Owusu, Gideon Mensah, Jerome Opoku, Benjamin Asare, Joseph Anang, Solomon Agbasi and Alidu Seidu.

‎The return of Baba Rahman has generated excitement among Ghanaian football fans, with the defender expected to bring leadership, experience, and stability to the Black Stars backline.

‎Retaining the No.17 jersey — a number strongly associated with him throughout his national team career — further highlights his importance within the squad setup.



‎Head coach Carlos Queiroz is expected to supervise another intensive training session on Wednesday as more players continue to arrive in camp ahead of the friendly encounter inCardiff.



‎The Black Stars are using the Wales clash as part of their preparations for the upcoming 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifying matches, with the technical team hoping to build momentum and strengthen squad cohesion ahead of the competitive fixtures.

All-Female CAF Licence C Coaching Course Completes Module One‎

The FIFA Coach Education Scholarship All-Female CAF Licence C Coaching Course has successfully concluded Module One at the Ghana Football Association Technical Centre, marking another important step in the development of women’s football coaching in Ghana.

‎The programme, supported by FIFA and organised by the Confederation of African Football in collaboration with the Ghana Football Association, brought together 30 female coaches from different regions of the country



The initiative is aimed at equipping participants with modern coaching knowledge, technical expertise, and leadership skills to help improve women’s football at all levels.

‎Throughout Module One, participants underwent intensive theoretical and practical training sessions focused on player development, tactical awareness, match analysis, and coaching methodology.

The course also provided an opportunity for the coaches to interact, share experiences, and build professional networks within the football fraternity.



‎Officials from the GFA Technical Directorate praised the commitment, discipline, and enthusiasm displayed by the participants during the opening phase of the programme.

They reiterated the association’s commitment to empowering more women to take up leadership and technical roles in football.



‎The FIFA Coach Education Scholarship initiative forms part of broader efforts to increase female representation in coaching and strengthen the technical capacity of women involved in the sport across Africa.

‎The participants are expected to return for the next module as they continue their journey toward obtaining the prestigious CAF Licence C certification.

Tolon MP Commissions Soyalana Agricultural Mechanisation Center to Support Farmers

The Member of Parliament for the Tolon Constituency, Alhaji Habib Iddrisu, has commissioned the Soyalana Agricultural Mechanisation Center in Tolon as part of efforts to improve farming activities and increase agricultural productivity in the constituency.‎‎

The commissioning ceremony, held on Wednesday, May 26, 2026, saw the presentation of the first batch of six mechanised farm tractors to support local farmers ahead of the farming season.‎‎

Hon. Habib Iddrisu, who also serves as the Deputy Minority Chief Whip in Parliament, shared the development on his official Facebook page, expressing his commitment to improving the livelihoods of farmers in the constituency through access to modern agricultural equipment.‎‎

According to the MP, the establishment of the mechanisation center is aimed at easing the burden on farmers by providing access to tractors and other essential farming services during the cultivation season.‎‎

“This evening in Tolon, I commissioned the Soyalana Agricultural Mechanisation Center with the donation of the first batch of six mechanised farm tractors to the good people of the Tolon constituency,” he stated.

‎‎He added that the center would serve as a hub for modern farming support services and help boost food production in the area.‎‎“The center will provide access to modern farm machinery and assist farmers with essential services to boost farm productivity,” he noted.

‎‎Residents and farmers in the constituency have welcomed the initiative, describing it as a timely intervention that will help reduce the challenges associated with land preparation and improve efficiency in farming operations.‎‎

The Soyalana Agricultural Mechanisation Center is expected to play a key role in supporting agricultural development in the constituency, especially as farmers prepare for the upcoming farming season.

Sankara Nationals FC duo Abdallah Abdul Haleem and Mohammed Chipurah have departed Ghana for Spain to begin trials with unnamed European clubs, in what marks a major step in their promising football careers.

The two players left through the Kotoka International Airport on Wednesday evening as they seek opportunities to secure professional contracts abroad ahead of the new season.

Defender Abdallah Abdul Haleem and striker Mohammed Chipurah were both instrumental figures for Sankara Nationals FC during the 2025/2026 Access Bank Division One League campaign.

Their impressive performances played a key role in helping the Yendi-based club secure a respectable fourth-place finish in the league.Haleem earned praise throughout the season for his composure, defensive discipline, and leadership at the back, while Chipurah stood out with his attacking qualities, pace, and eye for goal.

Their consistent displays attracted attention from football scouts, leading to the opportunity to undergo trials in Spain. The club believes the trip could open doors for the talented pair to begin professional careers in Europe and further raise the profile of Sankara Nationals FC as a growing hub for young football talents in Northern Ghana.
