Management of the Tamale Teaching Hospital (TTH) has taken a significant step towards improving specialised surgical care with the procurement of an ultra-modern orthopaedic operating bed for the hospital’s orthopaedic theatre.
The newly acquired equipment has been installed in one of the hospital’s orthopaedic theatres and is expected to enhance surgical procedures, increase operational efficiency and improve outcomes for patients requiring specialised orthopaedic care. Speaking on behalf of the Chief Executive Officer, the Director of Medical Affairs, Prof. Alhassan Abdul-Mumin, assured staff of management’s commitment to the continuous retooling and modernisation of the hospital’s theatres.
He explained that the investment forms part of broader efforts to provide healthcare professionals with the appropriate medical infrastructure and equipment needed to deliver safe, efficient and quality healthcare to patients. Prof. Abdul-Mumin further tasked the hospital’s Biomedical Engineering Unit to strictly adhere to the manufacturer’s recommended maintenance schedule for the operating bed to ensure its optimal performance and prolong its lifespan.
On behalf of the orthopaedic team, Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon Prof. Alexis Dunbo-Ib Buunaaim expressed appreciation to management for the intervention.
