Monday, March 10, 2025

A viral video featuring His Excellency John Dramani Mahama, President of the Republic of Ghana, has set social media ablaze with excitement, particularly among the youth in the Northern Region.

The trending footage, which surfaced online over the weekend, captures a brief yet powerful moment between the President and a popular grassroots politician, Godfred Apasinaba Wumbe, affectionately known as Yellow Man.

In the video, President Mahama, speaking in Hausa, informs Yellow Man that his Executive Secretary, Dr. Calistus Mahama, will schedule an appointment for him to visit the presidency on Monday.

The interaction took place in the midst of a crowd as the President was exchanging pleasantries before entering his vehicle.

The excitement surrounding this video is undeniable, as Yellow Man is a beloved figure within the National Democratic Congress (NDC) in the Northern Region. A former NDC Regional Organizer and an aspirant for the Northern Regional Chairman position, he has been a tireless advocate for the party’s grassroots movement.

His unwavering loyalty and deep connection with the base have earned him immense respect and admiration, making this presidential recognition a moment of pride for his supporters.

Speculation is rife regarding the purpose of the scheduled meeting. While details remain unclear, many believe it could mark a turning point in Yellow Man’s political journey.

For his loyal followers, this moment is not just about an invitation—it represents hope, recognition, and the possibility of greater responsibilities ahead.

The excitement reached new heights when Tamale-based Radio Tamale 91.7 FM journalist, Fuseini Safianu Mandeeya, took to Facebook, writing:

“That presidential comment that can change every man’s life. Yaa Allah, it’s Yellow’s time!”

However, unconfirmed reports on Monday, March 10, 2025, suggest that President Mahama is currently out of the country on an official trip, leaving many eager to know when the anticipated meeting will take place.

Regardless of the timing, one thing is certain—Yellow Man’s influence and dedication to the grassroots has not gone unnoticed.

For his supporters, this viral moment is a testament to his hard work and a sign that his time to shine on a bigger stage may finally be here.

The payment represents the NLA’s first dividend contribution to the state since 2017, according to reports on the presentation.
